The motion was made in the county court for Richland county by William Turpin, Jr. for writ of error coram nobis. The county court deeming himself disqualified, and the Judge who originally tried the criminal case of State of Wisconsin v. William Turpin, Jr. having died before the motion was made, motion was transferred to the circuit court for Richland county for trial. The writ sought to set aside the conviction of Turpin for the crimes of larceny and unlawful use of an automobile. A plea of guilty was entered by appellant on August 22, 1945. Motion was entertained upon written affidavits filed by appellant and by Leo P. Lownik, district attorney, Richland county, and J. B. McClaren, former sheriff of Richland County. The circuit court on January 20, 1949 filed a written opinion and entered an order denying the writ. The applicant appeals.
