My Generation in Music

This is  a fairly lengthy tome full of lists of hits and songs and artists with a very personal selection of top flight music and musicians with a specific slant towards quality music at a particular quality level.

If you are into rap and hip hop you will probably not be a fan but if you are into the best music that the last 60-70 years has produced you will almost certainly appreciate the comprehensive nature of the work.  A great deal of history of the various acts is included and you may very well be surprised at some of the revelations. You may disagree with some of the artists that haven’t been included in depth but I am sure you will not disagree with those that have been included.

Having listened to an enormous amount of material for 70+ years and having seen many many of these acts live and on stage I believe that I can claim some degree of authority.  I have read a lot of the stuff written in MM, NME, and Rolling Stone and often struck at how naive many of the comments are.  It is quite possible to get a badly distorted view of some of these famous artists.  It is necessary to take a step backwards, evaluate all the information and then commit yourself to an opinion which reflects the best reality possible.  That is what I hope we have achieved.
