The present volume is an attempt at presenting an outline of the Chabad philosophical system created by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812), author of the Tanya and Shulchan Aruch (Harav),
one of the great Torah-giants of the post medieval era, and one of the most significant thinkers in the broad span of Jewish history. He is known for his creative and innovative approach in the studies of Kabbalah (Jewish Mysticism) and Halachah (Jewish Law), which has been compared in it’s originality to that of Maimonidies.
Rabbi Schneur Zalman’s philosophical system is a unique synthesis of the mystical, rational, and ethical currents of Jewish thought. The esoteric teachings of the Kabbalah are systematically explained and harmonized with the down-to-earth, practical guidance of Halachah.
