Arthur Ransome (18 January 1884 – 3 June 1967) is well known as an English children's  literature author and journalist. When he returned from travel at Russia, he wrote a book of Russian fairy tales “Old Peter's Russian tales” which was published in 1913 and deserved high appreciations by critics. He won The Carnegie Medal for his Shallows and Amazons series about the school-holiday adventures of children. He also wrote about the literary London, and about Russia before and after the revolutions of 1917. His books have been translated and published in several countries.
