“A Taste of China” is a photography book that is more about the echo after a ten days trip to China than the trip itself; the adventure of facing who I am, and my new relationship with this ancient culture’s past and present. It’s my hymn to this civilization - China the dragon’s ascent, my hymn to this land, a land carrying the dragon’s ascent via a healing process. 

I intentionally posted my mom’s portraits in some of the photos as the main character. She is an elderly Chinese woman who visited her long lost homeland to find the spirit of the “Heart Sutra” in some well-known temples where the most respected Buddhas used to reside.

Through intuition and my personal aesthetic close-up point of view, my own connection to all the incidents during the trip, I enhanced, and recomposed my photographic images to create  a new art world.

十日鄉夢”這本攝影專集不完全是我十日中國之旅的回憶。真正的鄉夢之旅是十日中國之行之後發生的。 

  我特意安排我媽媽為一些照片中的主角。一個中國老太太參訪了她久違的的祖國, 在一些最受人尊敬的佛和菩薩曾經居住的寺廟裡尋找“心經”的精神。通過創造這本攝影專集, 我探索我是誰, 我與這古老文化的過去和現在的新關係。

  它是我對這古老文化的讚歌 - 中國- 龍的傳人的讚歌,我對這片古老土地,這片在療癒過程中承載著龍的傳人的土地的讚歌。
